JBG is a lossless format used to store both black and white, and color images. It was developed by JBIG (Joint Bi-level Image Experts Group) for compressing pictures to send by fax but can also be used quite effectively on other images. It consists of a set of two-character encoding which determines the allocation of starting points in the plotter. It’s used in various programs for plotting and it’s scalable, maintaining image quality. It has an ASCII structure and is an equivalent to HPG files.
