MOBI was originally based on the PalmDOC format; adding HTML tags made it possible to create a high-compression version which compresses data to a high degree. There are a number of formatting restrictions – the text cannot be indented, and inserted tables and images cannot be formatted.

JFIF is a graphical data format that enables the exchange of compressed JPEG files between computers. The main feature of the format is the use of a marker to indicate parameters that are not used in the JPEG standard, namely, pixel geometry, pixel size and some other parameters.
