JBG is a lossless format used to store both black and white, and color images. It was developed by JBIG (Joint Bi-level Image Experts Group) for compressing pictures to send by fax but can also be used quite effectively on other images. This format was developed by Kodak in order to store images on optical or other media. It is used as a format for archiving scanned documents on Kodak devices. It encodes images in 24-bit color and supports resolutions of up to 6144x4096 pixels.
