In a TAR archive, information is logged about the owner, file groups, catalog structures and file timestamps. Different bzip2 and gzip tools are used to create an archive.

For archiving with files compressed based on the LHARC algorithm. It’s a popular archiving format on Amiga computers. It’s used for compressing installation packets on earlier games. Later it was replaced by the LZH compression format. Currently LHA is still distributed in Japan.
