The format was developed by Mamiya for use in its own cameras. It is mainly used to store photos in uncompressed form for further processing without loss of quality. It was created on the basis of the RAW-file principle. It contains a complete set of information that was obtained from the camera lens.

This format is a vector images file in the Sketch Drawing program, which serves to edit and create interface designs, applications and software shells. SK-files contain objects and layers which can be edited independently of each other.
