Since 2007, Microsoft began to use a file format docx, which is created by using the Office Open XML. This format was developed by Kodak in order to store images on optical or other media. It is used as a format for archiving scanned documents on Kodak devices. It encodes images in 24-bit color and supports resolutions of up to 6144x4096 pixels.
