Free Online RLE to PCX Converter

This is a format that applies an 8-bit encoding to images for the purpose of compression and transportation. The format was originally developed for the Utah Raster Toolkit software package for managing bitmaps. The compression algorithm provides a replacement for repeating strings of bytes into pairs, which significantly reduces the file size.

PCX is standard presentation graphics developed by ZSoft Korporation. Used graphics program ZSoft PC Paintbrush for MS-DOS, word processing and desktop publishing applications, such as Microsoft Word and Ventura Publisher. Not as popular analog BMP, although supported by specific graphics editors such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, GIMP and others.
