This format was created to store images in RAW format that were created using Epson digital cameras. The image is stored in an uncompressed form, and it can be directly printed on Epson printers. This format can be edited using the Epson PhotoRAW software or using plug-ins in other image editors.

The format is a zip-file containing the text in the form of XML, graphics and other data that can be translated into a sequence of bits using patent-protected binary formats.
