PostScript (Type 0)
This is an expansion of the PostScript programming language that’s often used in the publishing business. It was developed in 1982 by Adobe Systems. Before the introduction of PS, printing text and images on one page wasn’t possible. PostScript makes this possible by giving a printer commands to print out text and graphical information as needed. PS also contains print coordinates for objects on a page.
CFF
CFF (Bare)
This is a format for compact font storage in the OpenType system, allowing for the rasterization of text information. It differs from TrueType in its abilities to describe font symbols and with its font structure variation algorithm, depending on the change in size. CFF allows for increased screen clarity with high resolution, but this is not due to the font, but its rasterization.
