This format is used by Olympus cameras to create RAW images. These files record data from the camera matrix that are used to generate the image. It contains raw data about contrast, saturation, color temperature, as well as metadata. This format was created by Nokia for use in its proprietary phones. A bitmap image was used to transfer image files between devices over a wireless connection. It was mainly used when exchanging multimedia text messages that support inserting pictures.
