This is used for creating scheme files with a set of instructions for embroidery on Melco and Bernina sewing machines. The EXP format for Melco sewing machines contains only information about skips, which create necessary patterns. EXP for Bernina already contains information regarding thread color schemes used in a design. The files are edited and created in vector graphics processing programs.

PPM is a simple format for storing images portable pixmap: color (PPM), grayscale (PGM) and black and white (PBM).
