This is used for creating scheme files with a set of instructions for embroidery on Melco and Bernina sewing machines. The EXP format for Melco sewing machines contains only information about skips, which create necessary patterns. EXP for Bernina already contains information regarding thread color schemes used in a design. The files are edited and created in vector graphics processing programs.

PBM is a Portable image in black and white. Can be opened with programs: Adobe Photoshop CS, ACD Systems Canvas 15, ACD Systems ACDSee 17, Newera Graphics Converter Pro, Corel PaintShop Pro X6. File contains 1 bit per pixel. PBM is a kind of file format PPM. And can be readable or binary.
