AAF is a format created for storing results of nonlinear post-production video processing. AAF is a non-linear editing analog of EDL format. It is cross-platform interoperable and designed to replace OMFI, so a wide variety of manufacturers support AAF in their authoring software. HEVC or h.265 is the most advanced codec for now because it has the lowest bitrate without losing the image quality.
