It includes magnetic resonance and computer tomography images, ultrasound images and fluoroscopy, as well as images taken with other medical imaging equipment. DCM also stores patient information in the metadata, which form part of a single file.

The main feature of this format is the use of reflowable text (word wrap) which makes it possible to adapt the image to different device displays. The ePub file is a zip-archive with an .epub extension.
